Regulations such as the Health and Safety at work act 1974 , Management regulations ,PUWER and LOLER have all been put in place so the person is less at risk
of falling a distance or having an accident which could cause personal injury.
More than a million British Businesses and ten million workers are estimated to carry out jobs involving some form of work at height every year. With falls being the biggest cause of death and serious injury at work it is important that we abide by these regulations.

When working at height:
- Make sure that equipment is secured and erected at the correct angle.
- The equipment should be positioned close to work to avoid over reaching, which could lead to the equipment rocking or falling.
- When climbing up and down the equipment you need to be facing towards the rungs using 3 points of contact (2 hands one foot or 2 feet 1 hand).
